Thieves Steal Up to \$30K Worth of Rare Labubu Dolls in Targeted California Heist

At the beginning of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, a robbery of One Stop Sales in the city of La Puente, California (Greater Los Angeles area) occurred. At about 1.29 a.m. or 1.30 a.m., four masked men broke into the shop and stole boxes of Labubu dolls that are a hot item exclusively manufactured by Pop Mart.

The value of the stolen dolls was estimated at about 7,000 dollars by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department but the store owner, Joanna Avendano, stated that the total inventory loss was 30,000 dollars and above.

The thieves did not want money or electronics; they only liked the dolls of the Labubu brand, which indicates a very specific and planned robbery, perhaps provoked by one of the store posts about new stock on its social media.

The suspects escaped on a stolen Toyota Tacoma, which has since been found by police.Surveillance video of the burglary has been shared on the Instagram of the store, and the case is still under investigation.

The short of it:

The Labubu smash-and-grab took place in La Puente, in the early morning of August 6, 2025.

The thieves specifically targeted the rare collectible dolls, probably being the result of the hysteria caused by a restock post.

The value of the losses is between 7,000 (official estimate) to 30,000 and above (per owner).

The case is still under investigation, but security cameras helped police track the suspects.
