1. Sad Incident at The Boardwalk Water Park

A 9-year-old child tragically died at Hersheypark’s The Boardwalk water attraction on the evening of Thursday, July 24, 2025. Lifeguards and medical teams responded immediately, but the child did not survive. The park is conducting a thorough internal review and cooperating with authorities. Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company expressed deep condolences and emphasized that safety remains their top priority.


2. New Thrilling Ride Debuts — Twizzlers Twisted Gravity

Twizzlers Twisted Gravity, the world’s tallest Screamin’ Swing, officially opened in summer 2025 (debuting around May 24), towering 137 feet with swings reaching 68 mph and multiple zero‑G moments.

It seats up to 20 riders per gondola and is themed around four Twizzlers flavors: Strawberry, Cherry, Chocolate, and Black Licorice.

3. Hersheypark Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Kissing Tower

In 2025, Hersheypark marked 50 years of its iconic Kissing Tower. It has remained a beloved and recognizable landmark in the park since its opening.

4. Dark Nights Halloween 2025: What’s New

The annual Dark Nights Halloween event returns September 12 to November 2, 2025.

This year includes a new haunted house, "Kill ’n Fill Garage", alongside returning favorites: Estate of Evil, Auntie Mortem’s Abattoir, Twisted Carnevil, and Haunted Coal Mine: Curse of the Tommyknockers. A new scare zone — Path of Shadows Coven’s Curse — joins the returning zones Fallout Zone, Midway of Misery, and Darkstones Hollow.

Other Highlights & Park Updates

Wildcat’s Revenge (a hybrid coaster converted from the wooden Wildcat) has been operating since June 2, 2023, featuring four inversions and speeds up to 62 mph.

Hersheypark now offers over 70 rides plus the Boardwalk water park, and ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park—all included with admission.
